The latest WordPress editor supports all standard keyboard shortcuts.

Gutenberg keyboard shortcuts for Windows users:

  • Enter-> Add new block
  • Ctrl + Shift + d-> copy selected block
  • Alt + Shift + z-> delete the selected block
  • Ctrl + Alt + t-> Insert a new block before the selected block
  • Ctrl + Alt + y-> Insert a new block after the selected block
  • / = Change block type after adding new paragraph
  • Esc = Clear selection
  • Ctrl + Shift + z-> redo last undo
  • Ctrl + Shift +,-> show or hide the setting bar

Keyboard shortcuts for the WordPress comment management interface

If you have many comments, you can use keyboard shortcuts to manage comments to quickly review them. However, WordPress does not enable these shortcuts by default.

To activate these keyboard shortcuts, you need to go to “My Profile” and check the “Keyboard Shortcuts” box.

After saving the settings, you can use it after accessing the comment management interface. 

WordPress  shortcuts can perform actions on comments:

  • J = next comment (move down the current selection)
  • K = previous comment (move the current selection up)
  • A = Approve comment
  • U = disapproval of comment
  • D = delete comment
  • R = Reply to comment
  • Q = Quickly edit comments
  • Z = If you delete a comment, restore the comment from the trash or undo it

To select multiple comments, press Xto check the selected comment, and then press the Jor Kkey to move to the next or previous comment. After selecting some comments, you can use the following keyboard shortcuts to perform group operations:

  • Shift + A = Approve the selected comment
  • Shift + D = delete the selected comment
  • Shift + U = Do not approve the selected comment
  • Shift + T = Move selected comments to Trash
  • Shift + Z = Restore selected comments from the recycle bin

You may need some time to get used to these WordPress keyboard shortcuts. But in the long run, they will definitely help you save time and speed up the operation efficiency.
